some guy says this you dont even have to be part of a church to be saved. all you have to do is believe that Jesus was the messiah, he was both God and man, and that God Jesus and the Holy spirit are three persons but one God. i dont care if im tormented, torment me all you want. but i wont tollerate someone who disrespects my God.
and btw, there are less laws in the bible than there are in the us, but most of us know, understand, and follow those
notice his user name.
here is my response:
@ijustwannabeHISsheep yeah and most of those laws include killing people for anything wrong and other disgusting shit. im sure you do want to be a sheep, you clearly want to fit in with the brainless herd pretty well.
Now if you are attentive and you have read a good portion of my blog, you might notice i leave a puzzle piece of myself in every post. some are more obvious (like this one) and some are very subtle. here is one. i dont think before i talk initially. whenever i give a first response to something and sometimes my responses in general, i dont think before i do it, i think after i do it, yet my response is exactly what i would have wanted to say. i think it is because of my adhd and bipolar, my thought processes are racing or really fast and when im not on my meds, jumpy and incoherent. when im on my meds, they make the thoughts coherent, but still fast.
i said he's a sheep, he follows his theistic lifestyle and thoughts without thinking or even examining them in the least. this is the case with most theists. this is the case for most people in some way or another.
here is where the metaphor comes in though.
KEEP IN MIND, THE HEBREW PEOPLE WHO WROTE THE BIBLE SPOKE VERY HEAVILY IN METAPHORS A LOT OF THE TIME! AND ALSO NOTE THIS PASSAGE FROM THE BIBLE: LUKE:12-47 "the servant who knows his masters will and does not get ready or does not do what his master wants will be beaten with many blows" jesus said that.
Jesus always referred to his followers as sheep. sheep are known to be practically mindless and follow easily. i think its really funny how this works. as people are brought up in a strongly theistic environment, they follow very easily, their indoctrination runs so deep that they will almost never run astray from their herder jesus (general christian religions).
let us also examine the first book of the bible. now at first i thought i was leading the evidence hear because i believed the story of adam and eve was basically telling people that knowledge is bad and trying to keep people in ignorance so they would follow easier but i just thought about it for a sec and i realize, im right.
the story of adam and eve basically goes like this.
they were the first humans and they were put in the garden and told not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. they did and god made them mortal (they were immortal before). he also put a bunch of other trees there to keep them content with not eating the one tree. he also said "if you eat from the tree, you will surely die".
now this conveys some very interesting ideas. i think our mortality in the story represents our humanity, and without our sense of morality, we are inhuman monsters. although its a very primitive way of conveying the concept and has a few flaws, it seems pretty solid. now here is the other thing, the church throughout the ages has been known to try keep people in ignorance. and here is another interesting thing, many studies have shown that the less educated are more theistic and the more educated are less theistic. a overwhelming majority of the scientific community identifies themselves as "not believing in a personal god".
here is where it all comes together.
god=religion, mainly the church throughout the ages.
eating from tree=knowledge, or even more specifically, knowledge of what is right and wrong.
not eating from tree=ignorance.
mortality=our humanity.
immortality=inhumane.
the other trees=church trying to keep us ignorant.
lets examine the two stories.
the church has ruled over humanity for a good portion of its existence.
to keep those it rules over in ignorance makes it easier to rule. the church killed anybody that went against its teachings until pretty recently in humanity's timeline. science and math were looked at as evil for a while. what we want to do is largely dictated by what we think is good, we think its right to become smarter, not to be ignorant. the church clearly didnt think so and many creationists dont want people learning about things that contradict their beliefs because its "bad". curing yourself of ignorance is "bad" to them. the ability to get educated and out of ignorance was there, but as people become more educated, they start not going by what religion teaches of them and they become abandoned by the religion as they abandon the religion. as we educate ourselves we understand each other more and gain a better sense of what is right and wrong due to understanding others and how we all function. we eventually see that the only way to correct a bad view is to teach one the right view or what we think is right. and education leads us to a better sense of right. if we remain in stagnant ignorance, we are bound to burn people for being "witches" and anybody who doesnt think like we do. our eating from the tree cures us of our ignorance as we understand that knowledge is right and ignorance is wrong thereby gaining our humanity.
so the church has ruled us for a while and wanted us to be ignorant and tried to keep us that way but the ability to cure our ignorance was there, we were threatened with death though if we ate. as we as a species began to eat from the tree, we separated ourselves from the inhumane behavior of the church and began to truly know our humanity and educate ourselves essentially learning what is good and bad for us all and we see that ignorance kills. we will truly be human in the future after having completely separating ourselves from ignorance.
god created adam and eve and was essentially their master and he tried to keep them from eating from the tree but the option was still there. he said they would surely die if they ate from the tree and he put a bunch of other trees there to keep them content with not eating from the one tree. they began to see the tree was looking more delicious and so they ate from it and they gained the knowledge of good and evil and by doing so they separated themselves from god and became mortal.
now there is one part i left out of both stories and it is crucial to this whole thing (this goes much deeper)
the only question remains is: where does satan fit in? in the bible god called him lucifer which meant "morning star" or "brightest angel". i think satan represents enlightenment. its funny, stars light up the sky and the morning star is the brightest star "ENLIGHTENTMENT" get it?
our innate desire for learning. children are born and they learn at an astounding rate, you learn the most when you are young, almost all children are excited about school and learning. satan is our innate desire for enlightenment.
so fit that in to both stories.
thats pretty much it for that...except i used to be a big conspiracy theory nut about 3-4 years ago when i was 14-17. i believed all of it because i was gullible. reptilians, illuminati, nibiru, 9/11, greys, you name it. i dont believe any of it now but i still have what i researched about all of it way back when. i even had a youtube channel with hundreds of favorites of conspiracy theory vids (i cant remember what it was called).
one reoccurring thing that kept popping up was satan and the baphomet. they were apparently one of the major representative signs of the illuminati. now i also remember that the baphomet symbol was meant to represent enlightenment. keep in mind i dont believe the illuminati exist. now it is a fact that the illuminati did at one time exist. i also know that the word "illuminati" is very close to "illuminate" which is a synonym for enlightenment so the baphomet or satan fits well. now the satan thing is usually why they are represented as evil.
although i dont believe they exist, i think there is something to all this. i dont think its very big, but i do think there is something here that i am missing.
now here is the only real question i have with the metaphor: were the people who wrote the bible basically just telling people how to rule over people, or were they saying that our desire for more knowledge would eventually lead to our downfall?
think about it.
